The Story Behind the Scissors
My journey began at 11 years old in a Bronx barbershop. I was already passionate about art, especially graffiti, and naturally drawn to anything creative. That artistic eye, seeing potential in blank spaces, understanding lines and shapes-made the transition into barbering feel like second nature.
I had this one barber I trusted completely. But after a few visits, he vanished. I bounced around from chair to chair, trying to find someone who could deliver the same quality, but none came close. Being naturally observant, I'd been studying his techniques all along. So I decided to take matters into my own hands.
What started as cutting my own hair out of necessity evolved into weekend sessions for my little brother, then neighborhood kids. After gaining experience working in traditional barbershops for a few years, an idea struck me, what if I could take this skill directly to people? No waiting rooms, no commutes; just high-quality cuts wherever the client needed me.
It took time, trial and error, and creativity, but that idea became reality. Today, I've partnered with some of the most iconic names in retail and fashion - Bloomingdale's, Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Nordstrom and collaborated with prestige brands like Dior, Acqua di Parma, Kiehl's, Le Labo, Red Pro by Kiss, and Martell. These events combine grooming and brand experience to deliver something memorable and elevated.
But beyond the glitz, I'm deeply rooted in the community. I regularly work with local schools like Medgar Evers College and The Nicholas Herkimer School, autism support organizations, and initiatives like We Build the Block, Project ECHO, and Brown Paper Bag. For years, I've worked closely with longtime friend and fellow barber Clai Sculpts to provide free haircuts to youth across CT, NY, and NJ. Educating kids about grooming, hygiene, personal finance, and real-life values that matter.
I also visit senior homes and homeless shelters to offer haircuts where they're needed most. Because to me, a good haircut is more than just a fresh look—it can boost confidence, restore dignity, and even change someone's outlook.
My reach doesn't stop at the five boroughs. I've built a network of trusted barbers around the world, so if a client needs a cut in another city or country, I've got someone I can confidently recommend. That's the level of service I provide professional, personal, and global.
This is more than a service, it's a mission. And it all started with a pair of clippers, a little creativity, and a lot of heart.
